Energy Medicine – BioSET

In writing about my healing from Lyme Disease, I feel I must write about my experiences with a particular form of energy medicine called BioSET (Bioenergetic Sensitivity and Enzyme Therapy). Since starting weekly BioSET treatment in January of 2012, my food sensitivities have decreased markedly. I can eat again!!! BioSET treatments have freed me from numerous food intolerances I’ve had since 2004. I can now enjoy a wide variety of food and give my body the nutrition it needs to fight the infection. I have gained some weight back. I no longer suffer from chronic headaches after eating. Other bothersome symptoms have abated after treatment: vulvodynia, chronic tooth pain, acne, and cracked peeling lips (chelitis). I now know this is a critical part of my healing.

Treating Lyme involves more than just killing the offending microbes. You must also support your body’s detoxification from the wastes of the dying microbes, strengthen the body’s immune system, and calm the hypersensitive state caused by the infection. BioSET can help with this.

I learned about the benefits of energy medicine while reading other blogs of Lyme sufferers who were recovering. One patient in particular had been using BioSET with great success, so I decided to try it. Now, I have to admit that I was skeptical at first. I am new to alternative medicine and scoffed at energy medicine in particular. Thank goodness I kept an open mind and tried it.

What is BioSET?

BioSET integrates traditional Chinese medicine and acupressure together with contemporary approaches to applied immunology and nutrition. The BioSET System employs three basic treatments: organ-specific detoxification, enzyme therapy, and desensitization.

  1. Organ-specific detoxification: Stimulates the release of accumulated toxins from organs and tissues and promotes elimination from the body through the use of homeopathics.
  2. Enzyme therapy: Facilitates good digestion and a healthful inflammatory response to correct nutritional deficiencies and other systemic imbalances through the therapeutic use of vegetarian enzyme supplements.
  3. Desensitization: Bioenergetic evaluation of organ stress and nutritional status followed by the elimination of sensitivity responses through a revolutionary, noninvasive technique based on acupressure meridians and immunology.

To understand how BioSET works, it is useful to think of the body as an organism through which electromagnetic energy flows along invisible pathways. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the electromagnetic energy in our bodies, called chi (qi), manifests as lines of force, or meridians. These meridians run near the surface of the body and pass into our internal organs. The amount of energy that runs through these meridians can be measured and recorded. This can be done either through muscle testing or with a device that measures the electrical properties of acupuncture points along the meridians. These examinations indicate whether the meridians are balanced, stressed, weakened or blocked. BioSET uses tools drawn from acupuncture, chiropractic, and kinesiology to locate and remove blockages in electromagnetic pathways that are specifically related to reactants.

So how does this work for a Lyme Disease sufferer? Here is my interpretation:

Lyme Disease is an invasion of microbes deep into the body’s tissues. The body’s response to infection is inflammation, responsible for the widespread pain, organ damage, and myriad symptoms suffered by LD patients. The body develops a hypersensitivity to this foreign invader, what many call an “allergy.” The body develops further sensitivities to otherwise normal stimuli, such as food and chemicals. The cycle of inflammation continues. Energetically speaking, chronic illness, injury, and inflammation lead to blockages in our energetic pathways. Visualize a damaged roadway that is blocked off and detoured. The energy still flows, but cannot flow to needed areas in our bodies.

Energy therapies can help to desensitize and reprogram your body’s response to anything from microbes to foods, environmental toxins, and even emotions. We can only do so much to limit our exposure to toxins in modern life, but we can change how we react to them.

  1. tooth pain can only be relieved by the use of pain killers be it oral or systemic pain killers. “;*;:

    • Hello,

I appreciate your comment. However, I must disagree. The pain finally stopped after treating my tooth with a cold laser, applying an antimicrobial salve, and doing BioSET treatments to reduce sensitivity to the pathogens causing the irritation in the gums. Pain killers helped, but only temporarily.

I still have redness on the gumline around the tooth, so there is still infection there. But I know that there is still active infection in my body as well. Eradicating the infection(s), detoxing, and managing inflammation will be ongoing tasks for me.

  2. I have done a lot of Bioset for years. I was so sensitive I had to do it thru a surrogate (my hubby). Been sick/disabled 25 yrs! Bioset helped but I’m still down. I may have undiagnosed chronic Lyme’s. I’ve been thru hell and back. I’m thinking of doing more Bioset after a hiatus but was wondering what else has helped you with Lyme’s? Thanks for sharing.

  3. Sorry, I’m new to your site and just found your other info re my last comment. I will read thru your info, thanks. Just a mention, I had severe insomnia for yrs and what’s finally helping me is medical cannabis tincture, (Indica). I’m sleeping most nights 7-8 hrs and off those horrible tranquilizers that were killing me.

    • Hi,

I have a friend with 25+ year chronic illness (she thinks possibly Lyme as well) who uses cannabis oil for sleep and it works for her. Right now the gabapentin is working for me with no side effects. If I need something different, I’ll definitely consider the oil. I’m lucky, Washington State has legalized marijuana, so I should have an easy time finding some.
